This has been such an on-and-off drawing that I can't remember how I first thought of it. Sometimes I just get urges to draw cute stuff and let's leave it at that. It's also been a cool experiment with using colour on sketches.

These little broken families make me simultaneously gush and cry inside. The softer side of Star Wars never gets enough love.

EDIT: I just remembered, I also used pose reference for Anakin and Shmi out of 'Treasure Planet''s beginning storytelling scene, it's iconic to me for a 'mother-son' bonding moment. Really sweet and underrated SF animated movie, check it out!

Man, no ones talking about Dooku. Qui Gon was basically his son and after he died that pretty much drove him to the dark side. He even looked forward to see Obi wan while Qui Gon was around. Probably because he thought he could be like a grand pa to him. Dooku raised Qui Gon and by the looks of it he did a good job. Qui Gon grew up to be a wise and good man.
